Description:

Our client, a leading Automotive Manufacturer in Durban, is looking for 3 x Pilot Drivers - Team Leaders on a fixed term contract for 1 year.

Must Have:
• Grade 12
• English fluency (written and spoken)
• Valid Code B/EB with no endorsements
• Valid PDP Driver's License essential
• Basic Leadership Skills
• Internal Company SOP Training
• Induction Training
• Relevant Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
• 3 - 5 year's Driving Experience in a similar industry

Responsabilities:
Planning and controlling all daily loads.
• Attend pre-and post-shift meetings with employees and Supervisor
• Ensure that all daily targets are met and escalate any issues or deviations to Supervisors
• Assist Supervisor to ensure that you have sufficient resources from internal and outsourced employees to execute duties and that allocated team work in line with the Company Quality Standards
• Assist Supervisor with monitoring the timekeeping of allocated team members
• Advise Supervisors when routine maintenance is due as indicated on the Pilot vehicle
• Ensure that the Pilot vehicle is checked daily as per the Vehicle Inspector Report at the start and end of each shift
• Ensure that the Pilot vehicle is kept clean and tidy at all times especially at end of shift
• Assist with various yard activities and checks as per the operational requirements instructed by Supervisor
• Ensuring adherence to all National Road Traffic Act, standard operational procedures, procedural rules and regulations while parking vehicles on site and on public roads at all times
• Ensure adherence to all speed limits on and off site
• No cell phones, MP3 Players or devices to be operated while driving the Pilot Vehicle or in an operational areas on site, only two way radios are allowed
• Report all incidents and accidents immediately as per standard operating procedures
• Ensure compliance and follow all relevant work instructions, standard operating procedures and the Company policies and regulations
• Control and monitor the allocated team's performance, efficiency and productivity and that optimal levels are maintained
• Communicate any variances and deviations to the Supervisor immediately
• Ensure that Plans are met with no deviations and communicate the hour by hour movements to the Operations Controller
• Ensure adherence to SHEQ standards and ISO accreditation guidelines by whole team.
• All relevant and issued PPE is worn at all times
• Ensure Andon Board is managed and communication is given to the Supervisor if there are units aging in intakes

Ensuring all documentation administered correctly
• Complete all relevant administrative documentation and activities, such as but not limited to productivity sheets, delivering instruction, hour by hour movement by team members, 400% audit checks and daily SQDCE checks
• Ensure that daily Pilot Vehicle check sheets are completed as per standard operating procedure and deviations/ defaults are reported to the Supervisor
• Perform any other lawful instruction within the Company's scope of work as and when required by superior

Salary: R 38.82 per hour (paid weekly)
