Description:

Our client, a leading Waste Water Projects Engineering firm in Durban, is looking for an Electrical Technician

Must Have:
• Diploma/ NQF level 6 qualification or equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering.
• 2 - 5 years' experience in electrical and PLC control systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Capability to design, build and execute basic PLC and HMI programs
• Knowledge of valve and pump control systems
• Working understanding of computers would be an advantage
• The following would be advantageous
o 1 to 2 years’ experience in with electrical work on water and wastewater treatment plant
o Electrician Trade Test is advantageous
o Experience working with Allen Bradley, Siemens and Rockwell PLC

Responsabilities:
Electrical Support
• Maintain, electronic control systems, PLC, SCADA and instrumentation
• Minimise equipment downtime through planned maintenance inspections.
• Complete preventative maintenance checks and fault-finding inspections on all electrical equipment
• Installing electrical equipment in panels, wiring and numbering of panels and testing electrical circuits
• Notification of any Electrical issues/faults
• Input into the reports for internal review

Adhoc Support
• Relevant Support as and when required by the Projects team

Management/ Administrative:
• Ensure quality and output targets for all projects are met
• Ensure compliance with all H&S aspects within assigned base
• Input into Development of systems to improve productivity and efficiencies
• Weekly operational meeting/ feedback
• Support on maintenance related costings
• Any other reasonable task requested by your Manager

Salary: R 35 000 – R 37 500 PM

Process Engineer

Our client, a leading Water and Wastewater Management Company in Hillcrest, is looking for a Process Engineer

Must Have:
• BSc or BEng Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or similar
• 5 years' experience as a process engineer in a water/wastewater environment and/or similar experience in an industrial or municipal engineering environment
• Computer literacy in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
• Drivers licence

Responsabilities:
• Assume responsibility of solution development, engineering and costing of water and wastewater treatment solutions
• Provide clients with concept options for CAPEX and OPEX approval
• Provide feedback to economic models to enable life-cycle costings and funder identification
• Provide an interface between Consulting and Projects for ease of project handover through the life cycle of the project
• Maintain strong relationships with key clients
• Management of key clients from enquiry through to project completion
• Development of RFQ proposals and costings
• Report preparation, finalization, submission and presentation of solutions to clients
• Ongoing research of relevant technologies, legislation and market drivers
• Business development and market engagement, when required

Group Plant Engineer

Position:

Group Plant Engineer

Description:

Our client, a Leading Packaging and Printing Manufacturing Holding Company, is looking for a Group Plant Engineer

Must Have:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering
• A minimum of 10 engineering experience

Responsibilities:
Engineering and Maintenance Efficiency
• Effectively carries out the preventative maintenance on all machinery within the facility which includes machine compressors, air-conditioning systems, extraction fans, and fire systems to improve reliability
• Determine and implement best practice standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, inspection and maintenance
• Provide drawings and designs to support business development
• Perform necessary technical calculations and operational tests to ensure that technical designs fall within the expected specifications
• Ensures continuous electricity to the plant and works with the municipality to set maximum demand usage and maintain accuracy against maximum demand
• Determine the cause of potential failures or performance deterioration, and plan repairs in conjunction with the divisional heads
• Management of breakdowns and liaising with external counterparts when problems cannot be resolved internally
• Ensure all service contracts are performed to the required standards of the Group at all times
• Produce annual maintenance budgets for the Group facility
• Manage and order critical spares ensuring costs are kept within the budget
• Provide engineering support to fitters and electricians
• Manage all machine rigging and relocation within or outside the facility

Equipment Performance Profiling & Optimisation
• Identify design features that limit the current performance of machinery
• Advise on changes required to maximize performance to increase throughput and guarantee reliability
• Present Cost / Value analysis to senior management
• Work with internal customers in developing business cases for future system enhancements
• Leverage best practices and leanings consistently across the Group

Due Diligence on Equipment
• Conduct due diligence on machines and process areas during mergers and acquisitions
• Evaluate the safety, reliability, and efficiency of processes and machines
• Assess the current condition of components and systems, and their remaining operating life
• Ensuring compliance checks are conducted according to relevant standards
• Preparation of comprehensive reports with meaningful technical evaluations
• Identification of repairs and refurbishments required to extend the life of the machine

Facilities Management
• Ensure the effective functioning of the facility to provide an efficient and safe working environment for employees and their activities by using best business practices to manage resources, services and processes to meet the needs of the company
• Manage security, cleaning, electrical and civil services provided to the Group
• Manage building maintenance and repairs
• Ensure the building remains in its original condition and obligations stipulated in the lease agreement are followed
• Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
• Coordinates, monitors and performs preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance and repairs to ensure optimum functioning levels
• Negotiate contracts to optimize delivery and cost saving
• Maintain relationships with contractors and service providers

Waste Management
• Investigate ways to minimise hazardous waste disposal and reduce waste disposal costs
• Ensure the waste farm is always optimal and meets the demand of waste pushed onto it through suppliers
• Creates, implements and enforces SLA agreements with the suppliers
• Ensure quick repairs to unplanned downtime through suppliers

Project Management
• Manage multi-discipline engineering projects for new developments including any building alterations
• Implement a detailed project plan showing all the tasks that need to be completed, the people who will be responsible for the completion of those tasks, and key dates or milestones for phased delivery and final completion of the project
• Estimate project budgets and coordinate with the Group COO for funds
• Delegate and allocate responsibilities efficiently to manage projects end to end
• Negotiate and liaise with stakeholders who will perform all the detailed planning works
• Meet with production teams and gather requirements, conduct regular team meetings and track project progress
• Ensure standard operating procedures and project guidelines are in place in order to track and measure the project's progression
• Make presentations on project status, and present monthly reports to senior management

Good Manufacturing Practice
• Create standard operating procedures on engineering maintenance
• Prepare for the yearly maintenance of machinery
• Make changes to machines to improve quality and reduce change-over times
• Ensure the manufacturing facilities maintain a clean and hygienic manufacturing area

Asset Lifecycle Program
• Research and implement best practices regarding life cycle decisions about assets
• Realise and optimise the value of assets and make repair/replace decisions
• Consider the life cycle plans and replacement cycles of individual assets, as well as the demand forecast for products and services to optimise the composition and location of the asset portfolio
• Assist with capital investment decisions based on the ROI of the proposed assets

Research and Development
• Manage the company’s Research & Development with respect to Infrastructure and Equipment
• Research and development of new services/offerings to enhance the Group both internally and externally
• Keep abreast of developments /new technology, processes and equipment and identify new equipment available on the market that could optimize production
• Forecast technical and financial performance (both deliverables and spend)

Product Engineer

Product Engineer

Description:

Our client, a National Automotive Component Manufacturer, is looking for an Prod Engineer.

Must Have:
• BSc / B-Tech: Mechanical Engineering
• 3 years Vehicle Automotive related experience
• Project management experience
• Design and drawing experience
• Preferably product development experience with automotive products

Responsibilities:
• Design and develop new products in line with customer and licensor specifications and selected technology at budgeted costs and within agreed timing & prototype developments
• Manage new project and Engineering specification testing
• Project planning, project management, costing and status reporting
• Develop Bill of materials and formulate product costing quotations
• Responsible for process design and associated paperwork related to the process
• Liaise with licensors / customers to obtain timeous technical information and ensure its relevant utilization in product and process design and development
• Compile and submit approval request documentation for product approvals
• Liaise with suppliers regarding the development of new products/tooling and provide technical assistance
• Compile and maintain the FMEA’s
