Description:

Our client, a leading FMCG Packaging Company, is looking for an Manufacturing Manager.

Must Have:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing and Production (Packaging or FMCG preferable)
• Engineering degree or relevant qualification essential
• 5 years plus Projects and Maintenance experience essential
• A minimum of 5 years in a senior management position
• Strong excel and ability to work with numbers essential

Responsibilities:
• Operational performance in our factories.
• Identifying and delivering “quicker, lighter, faster” product solutions.
• Appropriate and diligent care of our Production Assets – “Asset Care” - excluding Services Equipment, [being Plant and Equipment that supplies air, water and electricity], raw material feeding systems and factory-based air-conditioning systems.
• Planning and executing Business Unit-based Projects
• Eliminating identified engineering-process-flow bottle-necks from our Business Units

Salary: R1.2 – R1.6CTC negotiable

Junior Production Engineer

Position:

Junior Production Engineer

Description:

Our client, a leading Automotive Component Manufacturer in Pinetown, is looking for an Junior Production Engineer

Must Have:
• National Diploma: Mechanical Engineering / B-Tech Mechanical Engineering
• 2 years Vehicle Automotive related experience
• Good mechanical aptitude and hands on type individual
• Preferable project management experience
• Design and drawing experience
• Intermediate level of Computer literacy with Excel, Word, PowerPoint & CAD
• Product development experience with automotive products will be advantageous

Responsibilities:
• Offer technical assistance to the production to meet targets, goals and standards
• Manage the replacement, procurement and commissioning of spare tooling for breakdown and production support
• Liaise closely with Engineering with respect to all new product introductions and requirements
• Coordinate and implement spare tooling registers and control system
• Participate in planning and execution of plant moves and re-arrangement
• Need to be involved in multi-disciplinary activities within manufacturing, production, process, quality and tooling area
• Production problem solving and timeous resolving tooling related break downs
• Report monthly on critical metrics (Engineer Dashboard)
• Involvement in PFMEA, TPM, HIRA and DSC activity
• Analyse problems using RCA methodology for QPR and warranty issues
• Investigate and implement ideas for ISO 5001

Core Winder Operator

Position:

Core Winder Operator

Description:

Our client, a Core Winding manufacturer, is looking for Core Winder Operator

Must Have:
• Grade 12 /Senior Certificate
• Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience
• Willing to work night shift

Responsibilities:
• Carry out production, inspection, packaging and machine operation duties – in line with the job specification
• Set up core winder and ensure that all materials are readily available
• Effectively monitor production and record all quality checks
• Ability to accurately read all measuring equipment required for quality checks – Caliper, Scale, Tape Measure
• Working knowledge of high speed machinery
• Ability to load paper onto the core winding back stand – Physical stamina and strength
• Ability to responsibly direct and lead a team
• Maintain a safe and clean work space
• Follow established Health and Safety rules and company regulations
• Committed to quality, safety, good communication and attention to detail.

Process Safety Engineer

Position:

Process Safety Engineer

Description:

Our client, a leading Petro-chemical company in Umhlanga is looking for an Process Safety Engineer

Must Have:
• BSc Chemical Engineering
• 5 years’ experience as a Process/Process Safety Engineer in Petrochemical Industry
• ECSA Process/Process Safety Engineer registration (or equivalent) would be advantageous
• Project or Design experience would be advantageous

Responsibilities:
• Provide support in the implementation and continuation of the Process Safety Strategy
• Lead and facilitate multi-disciplinary workshops with respect to implementation of Process Safety Elements
• Create, implement and enforce Fire Strategy
• Lead the implementation of Fire Risk Assessments recommendations
• Liaise with external stakeholders/regulatory bodies
• Create and monitor Process Safety Lead & Lagging Indicators
• Conduct PSSRs (Pre-Startup Safety Reviews) for medium to large projects
• Lead Process Safety Investigations
• Audit the various Departments to ensure compliance with the Process Safety Strategy
• Follow up on all outstanding findings to ensure gaps closure
• Report on all audits and highlight major findings as well recommendations
• Provide input into the Process Safety budget

Salary: R50 000 basic, plus benefits

Must Have:
• Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
• B.Comm / MBA on top of Engineering qualifications are ideal
• Will oversee the following:
o Production
o Planning
o Procurement
o Inbound & Outbound Supply Chain
o Quality
o Maintenance
o Facilities Management

Responsibilities:
• Managing both the operations process and embracing design and planning control,
• Performance improvement and operation strategy
• Interacting with various managers and other functional areas within the Organisation whose roles have an impact on operations, this may include marketing, finance, accounting, personnel and engineering
• Human Resource Management, people employed by the Organisation either to work directly to create good service, to provide support to those who do, this would be in conjunction with the HR manager, do asset management i.e. Organisations buildings, facilities, equipment and stock are involved, support and cost management, most of the cost of producing goods are directly related to the cost of acquiring resources, transporting or delivering them to customers
