Our Client, a leading Paint & Décor Franchise is looking for a Store manager in Durban.

Must Have:
• A relevant business qualification
• 5 years in retail, 2 of which must be in a management position
• Code 8 or more driver’s licence
• Good computer skills, working knowledge of Omni system shall serve as an advantage
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal
• Clear ITC and fingerprint report
• Strong multitasking skills with good attention to detail
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Problem solving abilities
• Operation management
• Strong customer service and business orientation
• Interpersonal skills
• Candidate must be willing to work retail hours (weekends and public holidays)

Responsibilities:
• Driving turnover to ensure achievements of branch budget
• Controlling expenses
• Managing stock to ensure shrinkage is in line with company standards
• Ensure good administration and control of procedures are adhered to
• To lead and inspire a team to grow and develop within the company with full adherence to company purpose as well as its values as either a Manager or Assistant Manager
• If the successful applicant does not have relevant paint experience successful applicant will be required to complete Company’s and suppliers’ training courses within 2 years of starting job.

Salary: R15 000 – R18 000

Description:

Our client, a leading Retail Head Office is looking for an Area Manager in Cape Town

Must Have:
• Relevant qualification
• Previous experience in similar role is essential
• Retail/Jewellery experience
• Operational engagement
• Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:
STAFF AND FRANCHISE MANAGEMENT
• Recruitment and selection for relevant region
• Assist with the recruitment, selection and training of store staff/new franchisees
• Assist with the sales of franchise stores
• Provide sales motivation for store personnel
• Ensure that all stores function productively from a sales perspective have the required product knowledge
• Overseeing and coaching of all franchisees and company store personnel in areas requiring focus
• Operate as the management support structure to all regional stores
• Maintain contact with all outlets on a regular basis
• General supervision and review of store operations as required
• Monitor and report merchandise problems from stores
• Conduct store inspections to ensure that the required standards are maintained
• Ensure that the discipline process with regards to any breaches are implemented accordingly and in line with policies and procedures
• Conduct stock takes in company stores quarterly, investigate and report on variances
• Represent the company at the CCMA in conciliation and arbitration proceedings
• Assist with ad-hoc projects

TRAINING
• Monitoring and implementing training programmes
• Identifying training needs
• Assist with training at store level when required

FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYSIS
• Analysis of turnover and profitability
• Identifying financial problems
• Ensure accurate administration is maintained by the outlets
• Ensure company stores adhere to expense budgets

MARKETING MANAGEMENT
• Serve as a point of contact for stores from a marketing perspective
• Monitor competitor marketing activity in respective regions and communicate to marketing department
• Ensure that all stores participate in the brand’s marketing activities
• Identify and assist stores with marketing opportunities for stores
• Monitor the standard and quality of product knowledge and customer service
• Provide an ongoing communication link to the franchise and company stores

LEADERSHIP & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
• Offer a positive influence and flexibility towards franchise and company staff
• Convince or gain agreement from people to accept business ideas or goals
• Reward, compliment or discipline when necessary
• Act as an ambassador for the brand to all store representatives and customers

Salary: R 40K + Benefits + Travel allowance
